Fire Rages in Rialto (Daily Bulletin. 070906)

With all the fighting that went on with Rialto Police Department I wonder if the Citizens would fight as hard as they did for the Fire Department, Like they did for the Police Department? My reason for this question doesn't have anything to do with this fire, but what raised this question was while I was reading this report for the fourth or fifth time, I thought I wonder if they would. It might be a different bunch of people and not the same, since the RIALTO FIRE DEPT. was ACTIVELY Trying to get rid of the Police Department.

Now to ad insult to injury the Fire Department was called to an accident that involved a Rialto Police Motorcycle Officer. The accident was minor, THANK GOD, because it took the Men and Woman of the Rialto Fire Department and all their Brand New $5Million dollar Equipment to Roll out of their station and get to the accident which occurred just down the street from where my accident was.

Now, It took the Rialto Fire Department Over 14 Minutes to go less then a 1/4 mile to get to the accident scene. The Fire station for Rialto Fire was in sight of the accident, however they didn't roll any equipment from Station three, They rolled all the equipment from Station Two, Riverside @ Easton Ave, over Five miles away!! Why did they do this? Why did it happen this way, My accident they rolled an engine from Station three and were able to start measures that ultimately saved my life, However if this were to have happened again and the same injuries or similar injuries were to have occurred, then the Rialto Motor Officer would have been dead.

See I was coding or had no pulse when the fire engine from Station three arrived and started CPR, the Ambulance came from Station Two because Stationed one and two house the Ambulances.

I pray that this doesn't happen again. the city can end up with a Huge Law Suit since I survived my accident and president was set!!

PS: Good job RFD putting out this little wild land fire!!..BSR

Fire rages in Rialto

Rialto city fire department Captain Eric Hron pulls in additional hose as firefighters from Rialto and San Bernadino County attempt to put out a stubborn tire fire that erupted in a truck storage yard at the corner of Baseline and Tamarind Avenues in Rialto Saturday afternoon July 8, 2006 at 4:24 p.m. The fire burned at least 2 trucks and approximately 2 acres of brush and was brought under control in approximately 45 minutes. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation. ((Will Lester/Staff Photographer))
A small fire broke out in the 2400 block of Base Line Road Saturday afternoon.

Rialto and San Bernardino fire departments responded to the backlot that had been used as a storage facility at 4:24 p.m. to find tires, truck storage and trash burning. One acre of bush was burned as well.

Brian Park, public information officer for the Rialto Fire Department, said the fire was caused by someone who owned one of the trucks on the yard.

"Someone was doing maintenance on their truck when an acetyline torch sparked a small fire,'' Park said. "The man tried to extinguish the fire but it got away from him.''

Park said the fire departments put out the fire in one hour, but stayed two hours longer to keep an eye on a smoldering fire in the back of a truck.
