Body Found Out In Desert May Be Missing Simi Mom ~Renee Fox~ (LA Daily News)

When I was first reading about Renee Fox, I thought that they were crazy, when they said that she had been picked up, because she would have been found somewhere by someone, unless she was kept alive for a short amount of time. Now for the Deputy to say that she could have been abducted is a telling part of the case. My feelings on this case now is that she was abducted and kept as a love slave with no clothing where ever she was. When she became to much trouble to keep she was simply not fed or watered for days. Allowing her to die.
I know that it is sick for me to talk or even think this way, but I have seen some pretty shitty things in my career!! It would not put it past a lonely person in the Independence area to do such a thing to her. From the photo that they had released of her she was a good looking woman, but she was also distraught.
There is one thing however, that the Fox Family should Realize, Unless she was camping in the area that she was in, it is remotely weird that she would go down such a rugged road in a car, Unless that is something she might do. There just isn't that much in Independence, it is not like a medium sized city.
I will pray that the Inyo County Sheriff Department get a good lead on this and they clear this case relatively fast!!

Body found out in desert may be missing Simi mom

SIMI VALLEY - A body found in the desert east of the Owens Valley could be that of Renee Fox, a Simi Valley mother who disappeared June 24, investigators said Monday.

The Inyo County Coroner's Office was trying to positively identify the body and determine the cause of death.

Inyo County sheriff's investigators provided few details, but relatives said the body was nude and appeared to be that of Fox, the mother of a 5-year-old son.

"This is just very hard, very, very hard for the whole family. We're having a very difficult time trying to get through this," said Linda Romig of Winnetka, Renee's aunt.

"From the very beginning I felt something was amiss," said Romig, who noted that the body was found about 40 feet from Mazourka Canyon Road, where the search for Fox had been concentrated more than a month ago.

Inyo County sheriff's Sgt. Marston Motweiler said the woman's body was found Thursday evening along the road about eight miles east of the town of Independence.

He also said a photo of Fox had been sent to the Inyo County Register, along with a postcard featuring cut-out pictures of alcoholic beverages, potato chips and the head of an extraterrestrial creature pasted on a sheriff's uniform. The mailing has been turned over to a state forensics laboratory and FBI profilers.

The Mazourka Canyon Road had been searched for days by authorities using a helicopter and canine units.

Family members with motorcycles also searched for days after Fox's disabled car was found in the rugged canyon generally used by off-road vehicles.

Fox was known for her poor sense of direction, and relatives speculated that she'd made a wrong turn on Mazourka Canyon Road.

She was last seen by some campers June 24 walking back down the road toward Independence.

Reese Somes of Simi Valley, who spent more than five days in the Independence area searching for his sister, said it is possible she succumbed to dehydration and 100-degree-plus heat and was missed during the initial searching, or was possibly abducted.

"Could she have been taken away and brought back? It's possible," he said.

Interesting that you think she may have been a 'love slave', as that is what Renee's mothers' intuition told her from the beginning. Question for you: You say you have seen sick stuff in your career. Have you ever seen a body that spent 7 weeks in the sun somewhat visible (if you were looking) from the road with no smell until the day it was found, and NO evidence that birds had found the body?

Interesting that you think Renee may have been someone's love slave, as that is what her mothers' intuition has told her from the beginning. You said in your career you've seen some really sick stuff. Have you ever seen a corpse that sat in the sun for 7 weeks, was visible from the road if you were looking, could not be smelled until the day it was found, and BIRDS NEVER TOUCHED IT? Birds always do that gross stuff they do to a body. Why not with Renee?
