FONTANA -- The San Bernardino County District Attorney's Office declined to file criminal charges Tuesday against two Fontana police officers in the March shooting death of a San Bernardino man.

Ralph Larios, of San Bernardino, was shot and killed March 30 in a fatal officer-involved death.

The shooting was ruled as self-defense because the officers protected each other and stopped a felony, a San Bernardino County District Attorney's Office news release reported.

The two officers, whose names were not identified, fired 10 total shots at Larios that hit his left shoulder and under his nose among other locations, the report said.

The report ruled the shooting as self-defense because Larios shot and wounded an officer with a .32 caliber semi-automatic handgun.

The officers were armed with .40 caliber semi-automatic handguns.

"I'm very regretful a life was lost but I don't think it was the fault of the police officers involved," said Victor R. Stull, San Bernardino County supervising deputy district attorney who wrote the report.

Names of the officers were not released because the incident was a gang-involved shooting, Stull said.

=================================================================

This is wonderful news, I didn't think that he was going to be found guilty of anything based upon what I was reading in the news papers, but sometimes you don't get to see or read about the whole case. There are certain things that they withhold from the Press for Investigation reasons. However I am pleased that this officer gets to go back to work, however I know that it will not be easy for the Officer to live with the shooting in their heart! They must forever attempt to be forgiven in some fashioned, or try to make out like they are tough and say mean things that they don't feel, but down deep, they are crying out and this can lead to depression, so I hope that they have a balance that they can acheve at work and they might have some kind of release such as a Pastor, or Ministor of their Church, or a doctor of Psycology, that can help too. Anything even a friend, that they can trust.
