Rialto Police Dept. Contract From Hell

Here is my concern for the past few weeks. This has been burning at my heart since the Rialto Police Benefit Assoc. signed a contract with the City of Rialto & they didn't hold out and fight harder for the 3% at 50 Retirement, and this will be ultimately what they are judged by.

How can Rialto Police Department be judged in two year period when they are not on a level playing field. Since they did not get the 3% at 50 Retirement Package they will become a Training Ground for new recruits coming out of the Academy as they were when I was Hired.

More then half of the Recruits in the Academy that are Pre-Service in the Academy are not Married and do not have children. These are the people that don't have any ties to any Department and they are the ones that are most likely to get hired by Rialto Police Department. If Rialto Hires those they will not have to pay for their training in the Academy which is a huge savings to the city. But once that person starts working in the city they will meet someone and start a family. Then they will want a better Pension Package to Care for their Family in case something should happen.

That is why many Start to look at other Departments is to get better pay, and a Better Retirement Package. If you are a member of PORAC you can see that Rialto Police Cannot compete with the Surrounding Southern California Cities for pay and benefits. They are now closer on pay, however their benefits are way off the mark simply because they don't offer the 3% @50 Retirement Plan.

If Judged at the End of their Two (2) year Contract they will be going through the whole Rialto Police Department Dissolve, San Bernardino Sheriff Department Vote in Mix up again that happened this time. Because people will start their career at Rialto Police Department, however they will leave to go to other Departments for better pay, Better Retirement, however they will have a little longer of a commute, but that is a small price to pay for a lifetime security at the end of a long career!
