AMBER ALERT: Police hunt suspect in killing, kidnap

Police are hunting suspect Trevon Howard, 32, in murder-kidnapping case.
SAN BERNARDINO - A man suspected of shooting and killing his estranged wife Friday after kidnapping her and an 18-month-old child is still at-large.

Trevon Howard, 32, kidnapped Natasha Howard, 25, and a nephew about 2 p.m from the San Bernardino area and fled in a 2006 Nissan Sentra, according to the county's sheriff's department.

An Amber Alert was issued, and the police found the body of Natasha Howard about 6 p.m. in the car in San Bernardino, said Jodi Miller, a sheriff's spokeswoman. The child was found unharmed in the car and returned to his grandmother, Miller said.

Trevon Howard was already on the run after shooting Natasha Howard on April 10, Miller said. After dropping off the injured woman at a hospital, he disappeared, and police were still searching for him.

The suspect is possibly headed to Rialto or Moreno Valley where he has family, Miller said.

Howard is considered armed and dangerous. He is 5 feet and 9 inches tall and weighs 164 pounds. Howard also has a tattoo saying "Mr. Tray'' on his chest.

Anyone with information should call (800) 78-CRIME or their nearest police station.
