Board of supervisors endorses Wagner 4-0 Daily Bulletin May 17, 2006

I guess this is only for a short time and there cannot be to much trouble that can be taken from this, after all wasn't postmus up for Re-Election coming up on the next November Election? I am hoping so, if not it was wishful thinking. The County Supervisors seem to keep their secrets close to eachother and they are keeping secrets really well with eachother, with the exception of a few secrets that seem to be some differences of opionion in areas that concern the Supervisor's and the route that the County should be taking for Improvement over the next Ten Years.

I pray that his guy was the right guy for the job, after all he was not selected by the voter's as all the rest were.

Board of supervisors endorses Wagner 4-0

SAN BERNARDINO -- Dennis Wagner's executive appointment as interim San Bernardino County counsel by supervisors' Chairman Bill Postmus was endorsed by the board on a 4-0 vote Tuesday at a weekly pay of $4,400.

Wagner, whose private firm has worked on Postmus' behalf, was appointed to replace former County Counsel Ronald Reitz under authority granted to the chairman of the board. Board approval was needed to continue his appointment.

Wagner's contract is for a maximum of 960 working hours, equivalent to six months of 40-hour weeks. His annualized salary, $229,253, would be higher than the $187,933 normally paid to the county counsel because Wagner is a private contractor and will not receive benefits, county spokesman David Wert said.

The only supervisor to publicly oppose Wagner's appointment, the 3rd District's Dennis Hansberger, was out of the country and unavailable to comment on Tuesday. Previously, however, Hansberger stated that it was inappropriate for Wagner to be regulating the contracts of firms that are his competitors.
