Rialto girl, 4, dies after car crash

A 4-year-old Rialto girl died Sunday morning after she was injured in a car crash on eastbound Interstate 10 near Central Avenue, officials said. The girl, Emerald Miller of Rialto, was a passenger in a Honda Civic involved in a collision with two other cars at 3:33.a.m., California Highway Patrol officials said. The Civic was disabled in the fast lane of the freeway and was hit on its left side by an oncoming truck. The girl was transported to Dr.’s Hospital Doctor’s Hospital Medical Center in Montclair where she was pronounced dead at 4:21.a.m. Two of her siblings, Tiyana Weaver, 6, of Rialto, and Elijah Miller, 3, of Rialto, were taken to Loma Linda University Medical Center with serious injuries. Officials said the drivers involved in the first minor accident both fled the scene. The collision closed the freeway for eight hours. resulted in an 8eight-hour full closure of the freeway. --Imran Ghori ighori@PE.com
