Suspect named in Shooting (SB Sun 082106) Police Consider Man 19, Armed, Dangerous

San Bernardino Police didn't waist any time in gathering the wanted poster's for this man. Andy Garcia, just had to have been joked upon about how tall he was, maybe the guy that was killed asked the guy to stand up and say that when Andy was standing the whole time. LOL
The Messages on this story are scary, one guy is afraid and moving away the other things that it is cool to be purchasing beer and hanging out, on the outside of the club instead of going inside the club. I guess if you was to ask me, and no on is, I am just throwing in my 1.45 Cents worth in for nothing, But there is to much of the its Cool and this has been going on. That has to stop. The Quick work and arrest of this man shows that this town and Operation Phoenix is on its way up and that the old way is not the way to work things out.
I Really want to Thank the San Bernardino Police Department on a Job well done. They caught the person that did this in such a Rapid Manor. I just want to be one of those that Thank you.

Suspect Named in Shooting
Police Consider Man 19, to Be Armed, Dangerous
Guy McCarthy, SB Sun Staff Writer

A 19-year-old suspect is wanted in the shooting death of a Riverside man outside a Westside San Bernardino cocktail lounge early Saturday, police said Sunday.

Andy Garcia, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 130 pounds with "Andy" tattooed on his neck, is considered armed and dangerous, according to a police news release.

Garcia is suspected in the killing of 22-year-old Luis Cejajimenez outside La Nueva Copacabana in the 1200 block of West Fifth Street, police said in the release.

Residents who live near the Copacabana said Sunday they did not recognize a police photo of Garcia. Most of them said they were either in bed or asleep when gunfire rang out a few minutes after the lounge's closing time at 2 a.m. Saturday.

People who came out of the club and their homes on Saturday said they saw Cejajimenez lying in the parking lot bleeding. Whoever shot him was already gone, they said.

"The guy who got shot, I don't know who he is," said Freddie Lara, 59, who works at the lounge and lives nearby. "It happened outside, so I don't know if he was in the club before the shooting or not."

Lara peered long and hard at the photo of Garcia on Sunday. Lara shook his head, exhaled slowly, and said, "I don't know who the hell this guy is."

Another 20-year-old resident who did not want his name published looked over the police statements.

"I'm moving anyway," he said, standing outside his apartment near the Copacabana. "It's too dangerous around here. In six months here, I've heard a few shootings and fights. This is the first murder I know about. ... The cops are taking it pretty serious. They came and woke us up at like five in the morning."

The atmosphere inside the Copacabana is usually laidback, Lara said. If and when customers have a dispute, they usually take it outside, he said.

"It's cool, people drink," Lara said. "If a guy catches his wife with another man, maybe there's trouble. If they have a problem, they take it across the street.

"Sometimes young punks try to come in there," Lara said. "But they're not old enough to buy beer, so they don't get in."

Anyone with information about Garcia or the shooting is asked to call the San Bernardino Police Department crime-reporting hot line at (909) 384-5656.
