Man Dies in Police Shootout Daily Bulletin 06102006)

Let me just put it to you this way, when a man who knows he is a Suspect in a crime hears the words, "Stop Police!"

Rather then stop and listen to the command given to him by the Officers he turns and runs. Not only does he run, but he Pulls out a Gun and Points it at the People that have Identified themselves as Police Officers. Once that gun comes out, the man has to know that he has made a choice to meet his maker, he has decided to either Kill a Police Officer that is Chasing Him or He has decided to die at the hands of a Police Officer Rather then go to Jail. This case the Suspect Either decided to die at the hands of a Police Officer or he was going to try to Kill His Way Out of the Situation he was in....Either way it is a Suicide way to go.......

PS: My Heart goes out to the Officers that had to take a life in the line of Duty! It is something that they know can happen when they signed up to taken on this type of work, however once you get into the job, you realize for what ever reason the best weapon that you have is your mouth! When your hand is forced and you actually have to take a life it is not as easy as all that. It is something that stays with you for the rest of your life!! God Bless the Officers Involved in this Incident on what I perceive as a Job Well done, by what News I have Received on it!! BSR...

Man in police shootout dies

A 20-year-old Rialto man wounded in a gunfight with police has died, officials said Friday.

Two officers with the Rialto Police Department's Multiple Enforcement Team attempted to stop the man, whose name has not been released, as he left the Rodeway Inn motel in Colton at about 4 p.m. on Thursday.

The man fled by car from police and after turning north on Wildrose Avenue, he jumped out of the passenger side. Officers gave chase on foot, and the man then pulled out a 38-caliber handgun and fired a round at the pursuing officers.

The officers returned fire, striking the fleeing gunman multiple times.

The man was transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton. He was pronounced dead at 4:58 p.m., coroner's officials said.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department will conduct an investigation into the shooting. The Rialto Police Department will perform its own internal probe, Farrar said.
