Fontana Seat Belt Crackdown Nets 2,000 Tickets (Daily Bulletin June 14,2006)

When they said "Click it Ticket" didn't you think it was just going to be the CHP that was out in force?? Well I for one knew that it was a state wide campaign, since it is done each year, but this time it was widely publicised and they did a great Job. I want to tell the Men and Woman of Fontana Police Department that they did a superb Job!! Excellent. I just wish I could wonder how many lives that they saved by making those people suddenly put their Seat Belts on!!!...We the asking public will never know!!

FONTANA - Police issued more than 2,000 tickets during a three-week crackdown on drivers not wearing seat belts, police said Tuesday.

More than 53 Fontana police officers participating in the national Click it or Ticket campaign completed their enforcement Sunday.

The program was funded through the California Office of Traffic Safety.

Fontana conducted a post-event survey that showed more than 99 percent of drivers and passengers in the city consistently wear their seat belts.
