A Clear Choice (Tom McClintock) but there are some signs that have appeared that makes it a I am not so sure Candidate!

Dear E-Team,

Here they come . . . the powerful public employee union bosses have begun to pour money into radio and television ads to try and defeat me in this election.

They have polling numbers showing the same thing our polling shows—I am pulling ahead of John Garamendi in these last weeks before the election.

And the union bosses are afraid.

They’re afraid I will become the next Lieutenant Governor of California and I will not give in to their demands the way Grey Davis did as Governor and the way John Garamendi will do as Lt. Governor.

The public employee union bosses do not care about providing quality services for California taxpayers. They don’t care about providing a good education for our children, fire protection or police for California families.

They only care about one thing—getting higher pay and even better benefits for public employees. That’s why they poured millions into the campaign of Grey Davis when he ran for Governor, and he paid off like a slot machine, giving them huge pay raises and benefits.

That’s one of the big reasons why California is in the fiscal mess we’re in right now.

And now they’re betting on John Garamendi to do more of the same. They know I won’t give in to their demands just to get their campaign cash.

Our campaign team has already tracked over $750,000 in TV and radio advertising the unions have bought for Garamendi in the last few days. And there is surely more to follow.

That’s why I am asking for your help.

California taxpayers cannot continue to pay higher taxes every year to cover massive new wage, medical and retirement benefits for state and local employees until our economy goes bust.

We’re already billions in debt and there will be much more to follow if we don’t put our foot down now!

My entire career has been spent trying to make sure our economy grows because of less government waste and more of your money left in your pocket.

After all—you earned it, not the union bosses!

But our state budget and our economy will continue to suffer if ultra-liberal big-spenders like John Garamendi are elected.

Please help me keep up with the union bosses radio buys for Garamendi by sending an urgently needed contribution to my campaign.

Every dime we raise now is going into direct voter contact and it is needed.

Thank you for taking the time to read my letter and for your help.

Sincerely,

BS Ranch Perspective:
I am torn, because I am one of the employee's that McClintock is talking about destroying their Retirement Packages, Over the cost of doing business. I say that they are talking that the California Public Employee's Retirement System is so costly to the State Government, yet The Lieutenant Governor is a position that would benefit from that position that they get. I am sure that he would make sure that PERS was Demolished yet the Retirement and the medical and dental that he gets in his position as Lieutenant Governor is one that will not be effected by the changes that he is wanting to effect on the state!!
I feel that they are looking in the wrong direction when it comes to the burden on the state. we should not be Going after our own, the PERS, but the ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS that are here using Medicare, Denticare, and all the prescriptions and everything just to go to their home on the other side of the border in TJ or one of the other Border city's that that they are allowed to cross every day and use the benefits that they cannot get in their country.
McClintock should start looking into the Benefits that we voted on that should be amended to make it legal to use against the Immigrant so that they cannot rape our tax money and walk away with richness in their own country. They walk around like their feet don't make prints in the soil and they are the richest people that live over there making only $12-15K a year!! They are the rich ones. just think if I was able to live in their country making the money that I make I would be one of the richest people in the Mexican Government!! IT would be great, Just my wife and I don't speak Spanish and I don't like the Spanish television.
HOWEVER I WILL SAY THIS! THE MONEY THAT IS USED TO PAY FOR THE RETIREMENT SYSTEM, IS MONEY THAT IS DEDUCTED EACH TIME WE GET PAID FROM OUR PAYCHECKS TO PAY FOR THE RETIREMENT. OUR UNION'S EACH HAVE A FIGURED UPON AMOUNT THAT IS CONTRIBUTED TOWARDS OUR RETIREMENT BY THE EMPLOYER. BUT THIS IS A PRE' EXISTING AMOUNT AGREED UPON BY THE CITY. SOME AGENCIES PAY 9% SOME 4%, IT DEPENDS UPON WHAT IS AGREED UPON BY THE CITY OR COUNTY!!. THE MONEY THAT IS PAID FOR TO PAY THE RETIREMENT IS A COMBINATION OF MONEY FROM THE CITY/COUNTY AND THE EMPLOYEE. THE TOTAL AMOUNT IS NOT ALL PAID FOR BY THE COUNTY/CITY. EVERYONE THAT HAS A RETIREMENT SYSTEM STILL PAYS INTO IT SOMEHOW, JUST BECAUSE THE MAJORITY OF RETIREMENTS HAVE CHANGED TO A DIFFERENT TYPE OF RETIREMENT, I AM HERE TO SAY THAT THE RETIREMENT THAT THE CITY OR COUNTY PAYS THE EMPLOYEE IS THE SAME AS THE EMPLOYEE'S DEDUCTION AND PAYMENT OF THAT OF SOCIAL SECURITY, ONLY THERE IS A BETTER CHANCE OF GETTING MEDICAL WITH YOUR RETIREMENT.
What is being suggested here is that the City or County Pays the whole Employee's Amount for their Retirement and that is not true. The Employee pays for a larger portion in some cases then the Employer, but now that most of the City's and Counties have Officered a Retirement of 3% @50 the cost for this has gone drastically up, and there is a large proportion of people Retiring at the age of 50 instead of the age of 55 or 60, so there is a larger amount of money that is being used for retirement now. That has got the poss. Lieutenant Gov. up in arms over this Retirement package.
I want you to think about this seriously for one second, and this is one hard thing to decide I know, but this is what the question is:: Would you rather have a person that is 25 or 26 responding to calls for service handling calls pertaining to Law Enforcement, wanting to take the names kick in doors, and solve crimes that were perpetrated by someone that is about 18 years old.??
OR; would you rather have a guy that is 50 years old running around the beat checking the stores for break inn's, suddenly finding one, The Officer finally comes across a kid about 19, maybe 20 or so breaking into the Miller's Outpost, as he calls it in he starts towards the kid, and he starts running. the officer stakes pursuit.
Who would you rather have to solve each one of these situations? The first one or the second one? The reason for the question is that his that the Second Officer would be retired under the retirement that McClintock is trying to take away, and that second guy has not a reason any more to chase these mop's around any more. he has been in the job for say 15, 20 years he should hang up the gun belt with the badge, and call it a career, I was forced to do that very thing. I would love to be at work right now, but fate took me away from the job. so that I could write pieces like this against one of my hero's in politics. But I feel that McClintock is wrong on this one. Because Public Employees Retirement System is a system that is Co-Paid for by the state and the employee. for example if the cost of PERS for the year was $7,000,000.00 the cost to the State would only be $3,500,000.00. I know that is a lot of money, and it should be since if you were to average it out and go door to door, you would run into a person that was either an employee of PERS, a retiree of PERS or a medical retirement from PERS. in your neighborhood. Why just in my neighborhood. I know of 6 houses just off the top of my head in my neighborhood that are all PERS Employee's. One is a School Teacher, another is a Professor, and two are Ca. State Correction's, and three that are local Law enforcement. Anyway, the situation is a bad one all the way around. McClintock is a great guy and I like some of the stuff that he has done in the past, However I am not that pleased with this new news that he is one of the ones that are behind the closure of the State Employee Benefit Packages!! It is the only health benefit that I have, and it is the only benefit that I have for any of my health or welfare, and he is attacking it. It doesn't feel to well!!
So Vote your heart! I say that if you feel that Tom McClintock has the message that best suits what you feel is the best for our Public but not the Public Employee's the ones that respond to your house when it is on fire, the ones that solve the crime in this state, the people that Work on taking care of the animal over population and the licensing of your animals and pets, then by gum, you should vote to rid the pers of their public Employee Retirement system!!
TOM McCLINTOCK BETTER GET HIS FACTS STRAIGHT in reference to who is paying for the benefit. I believe that both the employee and the retirement specialist!!
