Inland Empire Growth Explored (Highland Community News 102606)

BS Ranch Perspective:

Even as the home market levels off the "Growth in the Inland Empire is on the Rise?" Cal State San Bernardino is so concerned with this phenomenon that they have opened up a study to see how we in the I.E. are Perceived and how unique branding and marketing opportunities are for the area. I say that we don't need a study for that, we just need take the benefits of the growth while we can and market the area before it is so over grown and the only thing that we are known for is the Crime Rate and the Blight because we grew to fast and the area could not sustain the growth for the massive amount of growth that we did in the early 21st century!! That is what I think. But I guess the kids at the University have to do something to earn a scholarship and if this is it so be it, far be it from me to stand in the way from an education!

IE growth explored

The Inland Empire continues to grow an increasing pace. As the population boom continues in San Bernardino and Riverside counties, and as more and more people migrate from Orange County, Los Angeles and places around the globe, what will the region become? What images will come to mind when people think about the Inland Empire?

An executive briefing conference, “Inland Empire Growth on the Rise, Now What?” hosted by the Cal State San Bernardino College of Business and Public Administration and the Business Alliance will explore how the Inland Empire is perceived and how unique branding and marketing opportunities can help shape the growth of the region.

The event is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 3, at the Ontario Convention Center. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m.

“If we are to market ourselves as a region, we should know our brand,” said Karen Dill Bowerman, dean of the CSUSB College of Business and Public Administration. “With rapid economic development, cities in the Inland Empire publicize different aspects of the region and sometimes compete with each other. From different points of view, in this executive briefing, we will explore whether it is feasible to have a collective, focused brand to project to the world outside of the Inland Empire.”
